Born 1958 in Wehbach an Der Sieg and raised in Kassel, Germany. After finishing Realschule (high school) she worked as book club agent. Her job led her to Munich, where she was discovered as an actress by students of the academy for film and theater. In 1978 she started her education in the Zinner film studio, her first part was the leading role in Kopfschuß (1981), which was presented 1982 in Cannes. Since then she appeared in various other well known German productions. Some of her fame may be due to the fact that she isn't shy to reveal much in erotic scenes in her films.
Before attending acting classes, she worked as an employee of a book club.
Lived in Munich, Germany, from 1978 to her death.
Founding member of the German Screen Actors Guild.
The German media considered her "the new Lauren Bacall.
Her name is the Slavonic expression for "mine".
Born to a machinist and his wife, a tailor, she had two older sisters.
