詹姆斯·勒斯库，Born and raised in Los Angeles, Lesure served in the Air Force Academy before attending the University of Southern California, where he received his bachelor's degree in theater. During his time at USC, he also studied abroad at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England. While there, he performed in the productions Hair and The Island.
